1958 Paint Codes

The list below contains the color codes for the sedan and convertible1958 Beetle. Some of the codes have a link to a chart for that particular code that show samples of upholstery, door panel, carpet and headliner material that VW coordinated with the paint color. 1958 Deluxe Beetle Interior Colors
ALL deluxe 1958 Beetles all had dark gray floor mats, 4 separate mats with 2 holes in each of the front mats to snap into place. The tunnel mat was also dark gray as was the firewall mat. All 1958 Beetles also had dark gray handbrake boots and shifter boots. Carpet was gray black in all sedans. Convertibles had honey brown with Diamond Gray, Moss Green, Inca Red or Alabaster Gray paint. They had gray beige in the Black, Bamboo Green, Shetland Gray and Atlas Blue colors. Steering wheels, column, hand brake lever and seat frames were all painted L471 stone beige in all Beetles. All knobs were ivory plastic. The headliner came in Light Gray for the Black, Bamboo Green, Glacier Blue Metallic, Shetland Gray, Capri Blue and Atlas Blue. The remaining colors all had a light beige headliner.

1958 Deluxe Beetle Exterior Parts Colors
Sunroof covers always matched the paint in 1958. A Coral Red Beetle never came with a black sunroof cover, it came with a Coral Red cover. The only one that came with a black cover was a L41 Black car! However, all running board mats and fender beading were black in 1958. On the hubcaps logos were always painted black on no matter what the color of the car. Bumper brackets are black as well. All wheels are painted 2 tone from the factory in 1958 with the center part (nearest the hubcap) painted L87 Pearl White in all cases. The outer rim was painted as follows:
